The STUNNING consortium is composed by five European partners covering France, Spain, Italy and Germany. STUNNING partners complement each other with their expertise in building and construction, consulting, technology transfer and broad and strong national, European and international networks. They are coming both from research and the industry.

DOWEL Management

DOWEL Management, formerly TECHNOFI, is a consulting company providing recognised expertise in innovation management and funding, relying on a close to thirty-year experience in Europe. DOWEL Management is ISO 9000 certified since 2005, with headquarters located in Sophia-Antipolis (France), a techno park dedicated to energy, IT and bio science value chains.  DOWEL Management addresses value chains (low-carbon electricity, energy efficient buildings and smart cities, clean manufacturing) where innovation processes are conditioned by various regulations acting as barriers or catalysers to help inventions reaching market uses (energy, building, clean manufacturing and bio-resources). In the building sector, our activities focus on refurbishment business models at building and district levels, together with the related R&D needs in view of developing novel city planning tools to manage long term refurbishment projects, and innovation related to sustainable construction. The company is part of DOWEL Group, which supports its clients all along the innovation cycle, from strategical positioning to public or private financing.

DOWEL Management will be in charge of the Project coordination and management (WP1). DOWEL Management is leading WP2, starting with the task related to the engagement of the whole stakeholder community. This will be closely linked to WP6 (Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation), and will include dedicated workshops and activities implemented through the Knowledge Sharing Platform. Within WP2, DOWEL Management is also developing the Knowledge Sharing Platform ‘Renovation Hub’, building upon experience gained with www.grid-innovation-on-line.eu and www.innovationseeds.eu. In WP6, DOWEL will work on the development of a Business Plan to sustain the project KSP after the project end, the webinars with stakeholders, and will also contribute to the other dissemination and exploitation tasks.

Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment

CSTB is a public research center in the construction sector, employing about 930 staff including ~500 engineers, researchers and experts in building science and building technologies and advanced ICT. CSTB core business covers four main fields: research, technical consultancy, quality assessment, and knowledge dissemination. Following a multidisciplinary approach, it contributes to innovation and problem solving for the industry, and to transfer knowledge and technology to the wider community, in France and beyond. It provides expertise to the industry at large, and disseminates R&D results through various scientific media to practitioners and social and public authorities.

CSTB develops consultancy activities in various scientific and technical fields, and contributes to the definition of reference (‘standardised’) solutions & services for products, processes and services in the Construction sector. CSTB is an active member of ENBRI (European Network of Building Research Institutes) which gathers main building RTD centres in Europe, and since 2004, CSTB is in charge of the general secretariat of the European Construction Technology Platform, which currently groups more than 230 Members across Europe (including E2BA Members), including industry and public stakeholders of the construction sector.

CSTB is leader of WP 3 work package. The objectives of this package are to select and classify energy renovation technologies, to construct data base on refurbishment solutions and to build a cost-benefit analysis methodology. The proposed methodology lies on the assessment of the life-cycle cost-benefit of selected refurbishment solutions. The findings contribute to identify the appropriate efficiency business models to implement the appropriate solutions on a national or European level (large scale renovation strategy).

RINA- C will be active for the whole project duration and will be deeply involved within WP3 with the assessment of refurbishment technologies and business model and with the clustering activities and within WP4 with the analysis of current market. RINA-C will lead WP5 addressed to the development of new business model and validation through business cases and finally will support the promotion and dissemination of project results across its network as foreseen in WP6.

SOLINTEL is an SME with more than two decades of experience in the construction and energy sectors focusing on the development of innovations in the building-energy value chain. Combining engineering and consultancy services, Solintel is committed to providing cutting edge technologies and solutions to its clients as well as furthering its expertise through in house building and energy projects acting as investor and/or developer.

The engineering department of SOLINTEL works on the full development of novel systems, low-energy consumption technologies and the energy efficiency of industrial processes. More specifically, SOLINTEL has a proven track record providing independent advice and research on technologies and products that reduce the energy consumption and environmental impact of buildings, districts and industrial facilities. In recent years, SOLINTEL has been at the forefront of low carbon and sustainability initiatives within the construction industry and built environment.

SOLINTEL will base itself on its extensive experience in the construction and building retrofit sector in order to provide insight on the current market trends and mechanisms that rule the European renovation market. Internal market knowledge will be combined with the clustered cases detailed in the platform database in order to truly understand what are the drivers and barriers to retrofitting in Europe for different regions, building typologies and other such segmentation criteria. Finally, with SOLINTEL´s long history of cooperation with numerous ESCO´s throughout Europe, it will be possible to draw out a set of strategies and solutions easily implementable by relevant stakeholders and capable of addressing the current barriers in the market.

Steinbeis 2i GmbH is committed to working in the areas of innovation and internationalisation, building on the 25-years of experience of Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum. Steinbeis 2i was founded in 2016 as a 100% spin-off of Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum and has offices located in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, Germany. Steinbeis 2i supports the work of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing and is the contact for regionally located companies, universities of applied research and research organisations.

Steinbeis 2i is a partner in the Enterprise Europe Network funded by the European Commission with approx. 600 partners located in more than 60 countries. The Network aims to support companies in all questions related to innovation, research and technology transfer as well promoting the exploitation of European Commission-funded research results.

Steinbeis 2i GmbH is responsible for the creation of the stakeholder community within WP2 and leads the STUNNING communication and dissemination activities as being the respective work package leader for WP6. In order to support the sustainability of the Knowledge Sharing Platform beyond STUNNING’s project duration Steinbeis will implement exploitation workshops and create an exploitation strategy for the project’s main outcomes. Steinbeis will also contribute to the databases of the Knowledge Sharing Platform by identifying and providing renovation cases from Germany and supporting the creation of the stakeholder network in Germany.
